Sorption filter

The water passes through a sand separator and oil and petroleum separator and is taken to a sorption filter, where the wastewater is further treated.

Detailed description
Design and operating concept
Cleans surface wastewater from suspended solids as well as from petroleum products, mainly dissolved solids. It is installed in the rainwater sewage system at the final stage of treatment. The capacity of the unit varies from 1 to 100 liters per second. The body of the installation is made of reinforced fiberglass, which prevents from deformation under the loads of soil and groundwater. Increased durability of the product is provided by continuous winding.

Cleaning technology

The wastewater flows through the inlet pipeline to the drainage distribution pipe.

Wastewater through the slots of this pipe in upward flow passes through the sand and sorption filter. This two-layer filtration technology, used in the design of the product, purifies the effluent to the standards for discharging into waters for fishery purposes.

The treated wastewater rises to the level of the outlet branch pipe and is disposed.

Installation
Prior the sorption filter installation, an excavation pit should be arranged - excavation works, water level reduction, sheet piling of the excavation walls (if necessary) and solid concrete slab, to which the sorption filter is fixed with synthetic bands (or corrosion-resistant steel bands on rubber seal) to prevent floating up under the groundwater pressure. After fixing the sorption filter, backfilling is done in a layer-by-layer manner with compaction by vibrating plate simultaneously on both sides of the housing. Once the rainwater treatment system and backfilling unit are connected to the collector, the sorption filter is ready for operation. For more details on the installation procedure of the sorption filter, please refer to the operating manual.
Maintenance

It is recommended to maintain the sorption filter manufactured by NTT-Peresvet at least once a year at the end of the operating season. Maintenance of the sorption filter should begin with pumping out the water containing oil products and sludge deposits. If sorption filter is equipped with sensors, then while pumping out the substance of the sorption filter they must be removed from the filter housing in order to avoid their breakage, clean sensors from contamination and test their operation. Sorbent loading, mats of sorbent Megasorb-F, is regenerated by washing and squeezing. Due to its elastic structure achieved by alternating of dense layers and hollows, the sorbent Megasorb-F can withstand up to 500 cycles of regeneration by squeezing without losing its structure. After regeneration and back stacking of the sorbent and placing sensors in place, the sorption filter must be filled with water up to the height of the output branch pipe.
