The station is equipped with downhole pumps of different capacities, which are equipped with a check valve. It safely protects against reverse water flow in case of pump stoppage. The risk of hydraulic breakdown in the system is minimized by the short response time of the valve
Prior the installation of a complete PS in its designed position, an excavation pit should be arranged: excavation works, water level reduction, sheet piling of the excavation walls (if necessary) and a concrete slab anchoring the PS housing to prevent its floating up under the ground water pressure. After the PS housing has been fixed in the designed position the pump equipment is mounted according to the manufacturer's datasheet and its connection to the electric control panel in accordance with Electrical Installation Regulations is performed as well as the connection of input and output branch pipes of the pump station with the pipelines of the water supply system, and then hydraulic testing of these connections is carried out. Then backfilling of the excavation pit around the PS is carried out, layer by layer, with compaction by vibrating plate. The final stage is commissioning and testing.
